Status: FOUND.I took a break from deviantART as you may have noticed, I needed to find myself, and develop my skills as a fashion illustrator. My internship with
Jennifer Lilya helped immensely - I'll be grateful to her forever. She's helped me in so
many ways; encouraging me to practice, sending me fashion illustration books, giving me an original of hers, advice (big sister and not) and most importantly, had confidence in my art, and believed in me when I didn't. I
almost gave up my passion - and I wouldn't have had the awesome opportunities I've had lately. I don't want to brag, but lately I've been so happy and psyched to get my career going.
I'm glad to be back though - I can't wait to upload everything!!

I just got back from
NYC for New York Fashion Week, the school I'm interested in taking an online program for Illustration at was hosting their annual graduate show. Let me tell you it was amazing!! I fell in love, and have many new favourite designers now! I've been blogging about my whole trip and will post soon about the actual show! That's another thing I've been busy with; blogging. I've recently gone into it full-time and I'm lovin' it. I haven't had much time for socializing on dA unfortunately so my groups have suffered - and for that I'm
sorry. I hope you guys will understand. I can't do everything on my plate at once, and running 4 groups on here, plus a blog, interning and regular life duties just got to be too much! I'm still going to try and fix up the groups & get back on a regular schedule with them. So don't worry!
The tickets for the show were free, I won them - I just had to write a 100 word essay on my passion for fashion which was easy!! I was so excited to win them and be there. It was my first fashion show. Oh, and guess what? I met
Fern Mallis - the wonderful lady who created NYFW!! I got her autograph after freaking out a little.

I also won a Project Runway book through twitter, which is what I got her to autograph in. I'm hoping to get Nina Garcia, Michael Kors, Austin Scarlett, and Althea Harper to sign their names in it as well. I would highly recommend this book, it's awesome!! (especially if you want to learn more about the designers/judges/etc - it's a good read!)
Networking in NYC was amazing, I rocketed out of my shell and just talked to anyone and everyone, which is what you have to do within reason! (obviously don't talk to some people!) I made amazing contacts and now have a fan club in New York - I'm ecstatic. Not only that, I'm now a mentor to a lovely high school student. She's adorable, I hope I can help her out!
Anyways that's it for now! I hope everyone's summer has treated them well!
Keep smiling!
